Art comes in a variety of forms, and that includes fashion. It’s a way to express yourself through different styles, colors, and designs. Fashion, as an art, has no limits. Fashion is ever-changing, and trends change over time. Big name brands and designers release new items with the intention that they would catch on as the next big thing in the industry. However, there is one item that will always be a staple in everyone’s closets. No matter the trend, this piece will never go out of style – the t-shirt.
When you think of t-shirts, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the timeless plain white tee. Styling plain white tees is relatively easy. You can wear them with anything. You can wear it by itself, paired with a flattering pair of jeans – a classic look. Others use them as undergarments, a modest way to style see-through clothing. Many others purchase the same style of t-shirts, but in different colors.
But, remember: fashion has no restrictions.
A t-shirt is like a canvas.
Unlike many other pieces, the t-shirt is versatile and highly customizable. With a plain white tee alone, you can match it with almost anything. But have you ever thought about releasing your own artistic prowess, and design your own shirt? Grab that plain tee, and get ready to let your creativity flow. Over the last few years, the t-shirt has turned into a statement piece – and for a good reason.
The real trend right now: graphic tees.
Invented in the 1960s, tie-dyed shirts are one of the first graphic tees ever designed, and still remain common pieces, especially during the peak season for music festivals. By the time the late 60s and 70s rolled around, people began wearing graphic tees with symbols of their favorite bands. Recently, there’s been an influx of graphic tees with references to popular TV shows, movies, and comic books, and they sell extremely well in the market.
What you wear says a lot about you.
True to its name, graphic tees are similar to graffiti – very eye-catching and in-your-face, a direct approach to showing everyone your interests, and what you’re about. Don’t restrain your means of self-expression. There’s a wide variety of graphic tees in the market, and, surely, plenty will speak to you on a certain level. However, by learning something as simple and easy as silk screening, you can even showcase your thoughts through your own designs.
As a trend, graphic tees are certainly good at saying one thing: express yourself.
